February in Red River – come shake off your mid winter blues

 

February 2, 2014 Super Bowl Sunday – Enjoy a day of skiing and when the lifts close at 4:00 PM – enough time to rally and choose from a verity of super bowl venue buffets, drink specials. Timbers, The Lift House, Bull ‘O Woods, Lost Love Saloon are a few of the places you can view the game. The Bull ‘O Woods and Lost Love are one block from Deer Lodge.

 

February 14-17, 2014 Presidents Day Weekend Valentines Day

 3-day weekend come treat your self and sweet heart(s) to a long weekend in Red River. 

TIP: As this is a Holiday weekend book your ski lessons, rentals, lift tickets, dinner reservations, and hotel reservations in advance as of February 1, 2014 Deer Lodge has availability.

         

Snow Cat tour and dinner– Ride the big cat up to the tip and dine closer to the stars. Now in its second year this tour/dinner books up quickly so go on line redriverskiarea.com and make your reservations is advance.

      

         Full Moon! – Check with Enchanted Forest Ski Area– on line/575-754-6112 to check the special full moon ski or snowshoe tour. Weather permitting Red River Off road will be offering sunset tours and full moon tours.

                Dine in or dine out!

Red River has 13+ restraints offering south -west, surf and turf, green chiliburgers, BBQ and more cuisine. At Deer Lodge we offer rooms with a full kitchens and all our hotel rooms with mini fridges microwaves so you can bring home those doggie bags or dine in. Rooms with kitchens have basic cookware and service wear. 

 

         Red River Ski Area: Open daily – take advantage of the  “Never Ever Skied or Boarded” and other learn to ski packages, group and private lessons, boarders can try out the new terrain park. Enjoy live music at the lift house. On Saturdays (and holidays) enjoy the torch light parade at the face – kids can watch Pooh Bear ski! Deer Lodge is a Block and ½ from the Copper Chair lift!

 

          Snow Mobil Tours – Take a tour with experienced guides or take a snow cat tours for the “We drive you look” experience.

 

             Shops – need warmer socks, collectables or art, a one of a kind T-Shirt, home made fudge, and that one of a kind “ Where did you find this!” Gift. Most retail stores are located along Main Street you can walk it or call for the free trolley service for pick up and drop offs. Many stores are open 9 to 9 seven days a week.

 

            Winter Bingo Check for dates with the Red River Chamber of commerce for dates and locations- all ages help support our Chamber of Commerce and their many year round activates – and maybe win some cash! Looking for a great gift idea? The Chamber offers Red River Gift Certificates give them to your sweet hearts, give them to someone you know is planning a trip to Red River.

 

February 22nd Just Desserts at the Enchanted Forest this annual charitable event brings pastry chefs and chocolate lovers together for a day in the forest. Cross Country ski or snowshoe to tables loaded with sweet treats. Tip: Everyone is invited to partake there’s a dessert table located at the office/rental shop.

The Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski area located 3 miles from Deer Lodge. You can bring your own equipment, or rent. Sign up for lessons and tours, Wednesday Ladies Snow Shoe Tour, warming yurts. Great views well-marked and groomed trails. Dogs are welcomed there are special trails you can enjoy with your furry friend.

 March- Fat Tuesday ends Mardi Gras in the Mountains with Spring Break on the horizon. Beach Week starts March 9th featuring live music and activities for all ages. TIP: If you have a chance to be here for the Red River Ski Area pond skim you are in for a treat. Bring your beach attire and make sure your video batteries are charged!
