Annual Fine Art and Wine Festival in Brandenburg Park June 14-16th Weekend festivals are low key no huge crowds and admittance to the park is free. You can view and buy artwork as well as meet the artist. Booths will feature pottery, painting, photography, and sculpture you can pick up an original or buy prints for reasonable prices. Many guest show up to see what new pottery by artist Beverly. Vote for you favorite artist. Live Music as well as food vendors and New Mexico Wines. Admittance is free. If you are 21 and over you can sample wines ($10.00 gets you tasting tickets and a commemorative wine glass) buy direct from the wineries. If you plan to sample the fruit of the vine or purchase tasting tickets YOU MUST BRING A VALID PHOTO ID- DRIVERS LICENSE WITH YOU OR YOU WILL NOT BE SERVED – NM LAW. Not interested in the festival—the rivers and ponds are stocked you can contact Jeff Fagan for a ½ day or day of guided fishing trip. At Deer Lodge we have two businesses that can set you up with license/bait and tackle and tell you what the fish are biting on.
Take a hike many of the lower trails are open. Ride the Chair Lift and take in a view of the town, Mountain peaks and more. Play Frisbee Gulf at 10,00 ft
Mountain Bikes and surreys are available to rent- all terrain strollers too.
Rent a jeep or go on a tour and leave the driving to a guide you will tell you stories some may say a few tall tails on area history. Community House offers guided hikes, music and games for all ages and all for free (donations gladly accepted).
Dad might enjoy a weekend of peace and quiet. The Red River, river walk and access to the nature trail is 2 blocks away from Deer Lodge. We are located a ½ block off Main Street you can sit out on the porch catch up on a book and take in the live humming bird show, we have a grilling area with table and kids play area.
Don’t forget you can walk to the park the river out to eat or take a free trolley ride any where in town limits and save on the gas.
