With 30 some inches of snow fall the last week of February we are headed into a grand spring ski season.
Don’t forget to spring ahead March 10th time change: The torch light parade which normally starts at 7:00 pm start closer to 8:00 pm
Wild Life Viewing – be on the look out for the Big Horn Sheep, Deer and Elk that come out of the higher elevations to graze along the sides of roads where grass and other flora is beginning to green up. A great Elk viewing area is along the Marino Valley starting at the base of Bobcat Pass to Eagle Nest—PLEASE Remember to pull off the side of the road and the land on either side of the Highway is private no trespassing. Don’t forget to keep an eye open for antelope and buffalo along 64 between Springer and Cimarron
Red River Ski Area – March 9 –24, 2013- Beach Week at the Ski Area – lots of activities planned from live music, kids glo stick parade, races and the must see pond skim on the final day of the ski season.
Enchanted Forest open everyday – Cross Country Ski and Snow Shoe – March 23 Moonlight snowshoe and dinner- March 22-24 Dog Days
Catch local talent at the Lost Love Saloon, Yesterdays Dinner. Check out the Lift House, Bull ‘O Woods and Motherlode for bands, DJ and other live entertainment
Community House offers free Zumba Class on Tuesday nights and Thursday mornings, Family Game Night Tuesday and Saturday Nights
Shop and Dine all restaurants and shops are open into the evening take advantage of longer day light to stroll through town or ride the Miners Transit- it’s free simply call and request a pick up and drop off just like a taxi!
